Insurance Information

Morbid obesity is a medical condition, not a cosmetic condition. Therefore, all requests for surgery approval are based on a medical diagnosis made by your surgeon. Most insurance policies will cover bariatric surgery. The first step is to meet with your bariatric surgeon to determine if you’re a candidate for the surgery. Once you’ve been accepted into the program,  our office will call your insurance company and verify that the bariatric procedure you’ll be undergoing is covered and also inquire if your plan has any deductibles or co-pays for the surgery. The New York Bariatric Group does accept self-pay patients at very competitive prices.  If you have already gone prequalification and have insurance approval through another surgical weight loss program you quality for a our FAST TRACK PROGRAMAsk one of our patient counselors for details.
